In a world where all it takes to be a celebrity these days is a sex tape or a bad marriage. Shauna Sand has done both. Shauna Sand: Thank you Paulie.
Paulie K: Now, before we get to some juicy stuff, we all know about the hot sex tape and Playboy and everything, let me ask you first about your early years. I have your bio in front of me and besides being beyond beautiful, you are quite studied in ballet. Is that right?
Shauna Sand: Yes, I studied ballet when I was younger.
Paulie K: Now how did that happen?
Shauna Sand: I started ballet when I was 5 years old. I absolutely loved it.
Paulie K: So at 5, here is this gorgeous little Shauna, doing ballet, where was this? Where did you grow up?
Shauna Sand: I grew up in La Jolla Beach in San Diego, California.
Paulie K: La Jolla - wow, rich? Ha ha.
Shauna Sand: Yea, it’s so beautiful there. Anyway, I practiced ballet all throughout my childhood and at age 12, I got a scholarship to Ballet West, which is a school in Aspen, in Colorado.
Paulie K: So you go from a heavenly La Jolla Beach in San Diego to Aspen?!
Shauna Sand: Yes, I was thrilled, and I went, and I danced there for 2 years, until I was 14.
Paulie K: So how long did this ballet dream last?
Shauna Sand: Well, at 15, a year after Aspen, my modeling career exploded.
Paulie K: So you had to stop ballet because your modeling career took off - tell me about that.
Shauna Sand: Well at 15, I joined Elite Modeling Agency, and they began flying me all over the globe for gigs and jobs, and I had no time for ballet anymore.
Paulie K: Right, you know the slogan for ballet is “we don’t do anything halfway”
Shauna Sand: It’s true - you have to practice every single day - stretching, bending, technique, stamina, routines, you must be fully committed.
Paulie K: Oh I know, believe me. No, actually, I have no clue.
Shauna Sand: They flew me to Tokyo, Mexico, Paris, I went all over the world before I was 17.
Paulie K: That’s amazing, what was I doing at 17?
Shauna Sand: Then I studied in Paris, France, I went to college there.
Paulie K: Your life isn’t as sleazy as I thought, except for that video you just did.
Shauna Sand: I was such a party girl back then, oh boy.
Paulie K: Now your claim to fame, so far, has been your marriage to soap opera star Lorenzo Lamas and Playboy, right? What happened with Lorenzo.
Shauna Sand: I have 3 kids with Lorenzo, and he was amazing and treated me so well in the early days, it was magical.
Paulie K: He also put you in some TV work, right?
Shauna Sand: Yes, we were in the TV shows Air America and Renegade together. I’m in the first episode of his new show on the E Channel, which I wasn’t too happy about.
Paulie K: Right, he currently has a reality show, (who doesn’t) on the E Channel called “Leave It To Lamas”.
Shauna Sand: Yes, I was only a part of the first show, and that was it.
Paulie K: Alright, let’s quickly talk about Playboy and then I have to ask you about this sex video.
Shauna Sand: Lorenzo had a friend who was the editor of Playboy, and he knew it was always a dream of mine to be in the magazine.
Paulie K: If it was such a dream, why didn’t you do it sooner?
Shauna Sand: Oh my Mom said if I posed nude, she would disown me, and I wouldn’t have been able to finish college. So, I bit my tongue and kept my clothes on.
Paulie K: Oh boy, Mothers, can’t live with them, can’t live without them.
Shauna Sand: Right, so Lorenzo took some pictures of me, with no make up, after I had just woken up, and sent it in to his friend.
Paulie K: Moment of truth!
Shauna Sand: Well somehow Hef saw it, flew me to LA the very next day, and there I was in Playboy.
Paulie K: What happened when your Mom saw it?
Shauna Sand: Funny thing is, it was so well done and tasteful and everything, my Mom saw it and asked me if she could be in Playboy too!!
Paulie K: How many kids do you have?
Shauna Sand: I have 3 girls, 9, 11 and 13.
Paulie K: Have they seen this sex tape yet?
Shauna Sand: No, but they go to the Playboy Mansion a lot, we go there every Easter, and they have a blast.
Paulie K: I wish my family was so lucky - I was only allowed to go to church every Easter.
Shauna Sand: Yea, they love it. It’s a great place to be on Easter too.
Paulie K: I know it’s definitely my heavenly desire. Those girls could totally raise me from the dead. They don’t have to wait 3 days, either.
Shauna Sand: Yea, I don’t want my kids to have any hang ups, so I keep things as laid back and loose as I can, and try to be the best Mom I can be.

Shauna Sand: Yes, I called my lawyer as soon as I heard someone was shopping this around.
Paulie K: So this isn’t a Paris Hilton thing, or Pam Anderson thing, where you kind of leaked it.
Shauna Sand: Oh no! No, I hired lawyers and they sent out cease and desist papers and everything.
Paulie K: So you are ready to fight this thing with everything you got, and what happens?
Shauna Sand: Well then I get a phone call from Steven HIrsch, who is the head of Vivid. We meet, we talk, and we come to an agreement.
Paulie K: Boy that Steven, is he smooth or what?
Shauna Sand: You know what it really was, Paulie? I had gone through this horrific, I mean terrible divorce with Lorenzo Lamas - I mean we really battled in court, and I just didn’t have it in me to go through all that again.
Paulie K: I could see that.
Shauna Sand: We battled in court for the kids, for the money, for the houses, for the furniture, it got really ugly and it just drained me. Having to fight for your kids is such a maddening experience that completely drains you, you have no idea.
Paulie K: Yea probably not.
Shauna Sand: So, I just gave up, and gave Vivid the rights and he let me have control over it. It looks great, he let me edit it, and choose the music and everything, so it really wasn’t so bad.
Paulie K: Sounds like a win-win situation, especially for me and every guy out there!!
Shauna Sand: Yea, I’m pleased with how it came out. It looks good.
Paulie K: Would you ever do another one?
Shauna Sand: Oh I have plenty more sex tapes in my closet.
